My thanks to the committee for their invitation to judge their Show.
May I take this opportunity to thank my two hard working Stewards, Pauline and Archie for their wonderful assistance throughout this excellent entry of 173 dogs and bitches which were in actual attendance out of a final total of 206
With this total in mind, I would like to thank all who entered with a special compliment to our very welcome overseas entrants. From the above total, they themselves included a 28% attendance.
Due to final figures, I had the pleasure of judging twenty five puppies. At many other shows in the recent past, we have seen a great reduction in these figures. let us hope that higher numbers can be achieved for the future of the breed.
Later, I found a healthy number of Juniors also, and in later classes found myself in a position to pick out a reduced number of potential winners from well-numbered classes.
I do feel this application of reducing dogs should be encouraged rather than the method of just pulling out the required five placings. My reason for such thoughts being, I feel it gives people the greater satisfaction of knowing their charges have been acknowledged as potential winners elseware. Further, I feel this method should be encouraged for the future of dog showing itself.
As far as the dogs themselves, I found a number of over weights in evidence along with short muzzles, this which seems to be getting some attention on the usual internet channels. Movement is always a concern of mine by relating to the fact “ If they move right then they are built right If they built right then they move right”.
I have also inserted the Sire, Dam and age of all three placings. This for the benefit of the people who were unable to attend and anyone without a catalogue.
Finally, I repeat; my grateful thanks to all exhibitors for their entries and confidence in my ability to return an honest result.

1 Tagstane Bobby McGee. - Black brindle with great promise. Clean cut head shape for one so young. Straight well-angulated front. Dark round eye shape along with good pigmentation. Clean bite, level topline, well off for bone density. Body shape needs a little time. She has angulated hindquarters and correct tail carriage. The movement was quite acceptable for one so young.

2 - Dilirystaff All The Rage - A further promising youngster. Not a lot separated these two. Overall, a good representation of the standard. Clean cut head shape along with correctly formed bite. with depth of under jaw. Well boned angulated forequarters including level topline. Excellent confirmation of hindquarters which allows for good movement.. Hopefully, should mature into a constant winner.

She is short coupled and has a strong well angulated frontal structure. I’m sure this is another one that will have a bright future, quality oozed!. Level topline down to her rear quarters which allowed for a strong driving movement.

Strong rear quarters with well-padded feet which culminated in a strong jaunty movement.

Rose ears. Clean neckline running into well-angled shoulders. deep brisket, well ribbed, short coupled & level top-line. Well presented in excellent bloom all of this is complemented by a strong driving action.

She has a beautiful head, not overdone in any way, with the f eye colour not a problem, neat rose ears and a keen expression. Enough depth of brisket, level top line and good angulations. I can see why she is popular of late.

Head has balance and definition, an ample stop, distinct but not overdone. Strong clean muzzle with depth and a good bite. Lovely feminine expression with eyes looking straight forward. Well angled in the forequarters with strong pasterns. Neck flows well into top-line which was correct both standing and in motion. Brisket slightly below the elbow with good spring of rib. Strong rear quarters with well let down hocks supporting her effortless rear action. CC and BOS.

2 - CH TRAWDEN ICE AND SPICE JW. Red and White Pied. Similar type to one. Well made put together Bitch who pushed all the way to the very end. Cracking head and expression, correct bite with good size canines, tight lip, round dark eye, neat rose ears. Well-placed shoulders with a short powerful neck, excellent bone and front with a good drop of brisket and nice round feet. Well bodied with lovely rib cage, level top line that she held standing and moving. Short coat in lovely condition, short coupled with good tuck up, good muscular rear quarters with the correct tail carriage. During an earlier encounter with this madam, there was a problem, of which caused some disappointment to her handler. However, since that time there has been rectification in the movement department and on this occasion I was delighted to hand her the Res. CC.
