SBT Breed Notes w/c 16th September
Hello Again! I hope you have all had a good week.
I’m going to start this week with an update from Lesley McFadyen and the East Anglia SBT Display Team. Lesley reports that:
“The Happy Staffie Rescue fun day went well, despite the sun playing hide and seek throughout the day, and the clouds rolling in and out. Our Display Team did two displays and entertained the crowds with some good tricks and skills; we have a short video on YouTube that Darren has made for us: https://youtu.be/G53K3lDnNDo?si=v02s-kNI6DvxRlj5 There were lots of happy faces around all day and plenty of funds raised for the rescue. As well as their fun dog show they had lots of side stall entertainment, the best of which was their human fruit machine, which was hilarious to watch. What a lot of good sports they are! The SBT Club stand had a steady stream of visitors throughout the day too.
As a Club boast I thought I would mention that our Treasurer, Gem Rowe's dog Jabba (Illori Akinlana JW ShCM VW) not only won Best Veteran under Frank Kane at Richmond Ch show last weekend, but also won the Veteran Terrier group under judge Patsy Hollins. A great result and weekend for Gem, whose young bitch Nova (Illori Constellation JW) also won the BRCC.”

SCSBTS – DOGS Liz Stanway (Waystaff) – 71 dogs, BITCHES Sian Hammond (Hammystaff) – 109 bitches and Pete Hopgood (Antroboss) is referee – Sunday 22nd September.
Belfast have also announced their entry for Johan Sandstrom – 26 dogs and 32 Bitches making 73 entries.

Last time I brought you the results from Bournemouth on 12th August. Later that same week, on Friday 16th, it was across into Wales for WKC where my other half, Spencer Cox (Hamason) was awarding CC’s for the first time. Spencer had an entry of 111 from 93 dogs and his main winners were as follows:

Well done everyone.
The following weekend it was supposed to be Driffield where Colin Powell (Bowtman) had an entry of 129 from 127 dogs. Unfortunately the whole show was cancelled due to the high winds having caused severe damage to the marquees. The Society made the difficult but sensible decision to cancel the show as the safety of dogs and exhibitors was paramount.
A few other results now and on Wednesday 21st August Merioneth Agricultural Society held their open show where Mr J Whitman (Khatibi) was judging. With 3 dogs entered and 2 dogs present, his winners were:

BOB went on to take Terrier Group 3 and the BPIB also went on to take Terrier Puppy Group 3 – well done!
On Monday 26th August South West Essex Canine Association held their Open show where Jayne Alpe (PIPRUDA) was judging. Jayne had 4 entries with 3 dogs present and her winners were:

On Sunday 25th August Horley & District Dog Show Society held their Open Show where Philip Fricker (CALAVEY) was judging. He had 9 dogs with 4 present and his winners were:
BOB & BPIB – SIKAISTAFF MISS DYNAMITE 17.01.2024 (Jasamarch Celtic Lad x Sikaistaff Fire Within). This puppy went on to take Terrier Puppy Group 1 and then Reserve Best Puppy In Show – well done!
RBOB – MATRIXSTAFF MOON DANCER AT TIDESTAFF 08.12.2022 (CH Elitebulls Challenger JW x CH Matrixstaff Black Beauty)
This coming weekend we have another double-header with Darlington on Friday 13th September where Frank Gough is judging followed by Northern Counties SBTC on Saturday 14th September where Craig Dillon is judging dogs and Tom Hehir is judging bitches. Frank has an entry of 136 from 129 dogs, making the top Terrier entry. Meanwhile, the next day, Craig has 70 entries and Tom has 103 entries giving a total entry of 173. Well done everyone, safe travels to all who are going.
